This is my mom's first Great-Grandchild... she is a tiny little thing. She is 3 1/2 months old and finally 8lbs. 3 oz. They say she getting bigger and bigger all the time. This was taken on Chrsitmas Day. She's all the way in Idaho... another big thing we're missing. Texas is great though... I can't wait to go back for a visit.
I want something in my life. I want to know where I'm suppose to be. I want to belong. I'm finding my path.

Here's another goody from my files... I decided that these pictures are to cool to just keep to myself. This is E's first day of school. I got to pick her up from school on her first day. She knew her teacher (Mrs.)... she had been S's teacher... so E had experienced her at S's parties. Mrs. had been in party mode before. This day was the first... it was laying down the law day. Rules, and mean Mrs., E didn't like it. After this picture she got in the car and said, "WELL, she was a little cranky!" I laughed... she was irriated with me for laughing at her. She didn't think it was funny, she didn't know if school was going to be fun. She has that little tinkle in her eyes. She is a beautiful little girl and I miss her and all my nieces and nephews. That is the hardest part of being in Texas.

Still a picture from my files... Today was so beautiful in Texas. 75 degrees and glorious :) I took this picture of E back in Idaho. It's the fish in front of Howdy's in Cascade. I didn't think to make her put her coat on. I'm a bad aunt. That's snow behind her. We were both freezing... nothing like Texas. Even when it's cold here it's still about 40 degrees... and that feels REALLY cold. We think the humidity makes it cold in your bones. In Idaho it is about 13 degrees. Sorry... this is the cool part about being in Texas in the winter time.

This big guy was at the San Antonio Zoo... it was July... VERY hot... doesn't he look hot. We were sweating and we weren't dressed that warm. The San Antonio Zoo is the biggest zoo we've ever been to. It was so cool. This is such a neat picture. I thought I would share it with you. I'll try to get back into the new pictures soon.

This is was the first impression we had of Texas. This picture was taken on the drive to San Antonio, outside of El Paso, Texas. There is a LOT of nothing for a very long time.... like 10 hours. I was so disappointed there weren't any cows. One time we could smell cows... you all know the smell... we were looking around frantically... but they were on a truck in front of us. We passed them and the smell went away. False alarm. We actually saw tons of goats... no cows. They'll eat anything... even if there nothing but cactus. Evidently we live in the wrong part of Texas for cows. This weekend is the Stock show and Rodeo... It seems to be a big deal. Who knew??? since I can't get around very well, we aren't going. My leg is feeling great as long as I don't put any weight on it. I can crutch just fine now... but my arm wants to break. That's not great. (It's the one I broke this summer.)

I'm still not up to doing much more than going to Physical Therapy and the doctor, so I don't have a new picture for today... I thought I would show y'all some of Texas. This is the Alamo. That's a bunch of people I don't know. You can't take pictures inside the Alamo because is considered a shrine... it is actually a church. Men are asked to take their hats off, and everyone is expected to show respect for all the people who were killed there. Texans regard this place as the start of the fight for freedom from Santa Anna. They lost and every man died... but they ticked them off so bad that they kicked their butts after that. Some women were hiding in a small room and survived the attack. We went and watched a movie about the battle of the Alamo at the I-MAX theater. It was very loud. Cool.. but loud.

A picture a day 2008
Jan. 1, 2008...Here are my wonderful plants...
Jan. 3, 2008... then here is my sad, sad, plant... it was outside and I brought it in so it wouldn't get too cold. Although that's pretty pathetic to think that it would be cold enough to do much to anything in Texas. The bugs aren't even phased by the cold here.
Anyway, my plant is still sad... I'm not sure what to do about it.
Jan. 4, 2008... I have a bruise... I have to document it. It doesn't happen very often. I went to the doctor yesterday, and they took blood. My leg is going to be fine. When I fell off the ladder this summer, I bruised my leg REALLY bad and it healed. But, while I was in Idaho for Christmas it got very hurty again... so I went to the doc to see what was up... I'm going to be fine. And I'm glad to know that I'm not just being a weeny. I have meds to make the swelling go down and heal the muscle. I'm good.
