March 31, 2008 Picture

We went to Corpus Christi one day... It w as SO FUN... we played on the beach in the Gulf of Mexico for a couple of hours, we picked up lots of shells and a couple of Sand Dollars. S got one from a friend and then E wanted one. She kept saying that she wanted "sand money" ... it was a sand dollar.
This is a cool shell that looked like a purple butterfly. I actually found several of them. I want to make something out of them. I'll work on it.
Then we went on a ferry across to the mainland from an island in the Gulf. We saw dolphins while we were on the ferry. They were so close. S was screaming that he could see them. He was excited... we all were. That was my favorite day while my family was visiting.

Here is a cool stain-glassed window. It is on the San Antonio Temple. We stopped and looked at the flowers and walked around a little. All the flowers in the grounds are so beautiful.

March 29, 2008 Picture

We also saw a Giraffe. He was big. He is eating out of a ring ball thing way up in the tree... making it more like the wild I guess. He was beautiful. One of the big highlights of the day.

March 28, 2008 Picture

We went to the San Antonio Zoo on Monday... we finally saw a Zebra. Right after we got there they moved him over into a different pen... we couldn't see him anymore. We came at the right time. It was a long day. But fun.

March 27, 2008 Picture

This was also on Easter Sunday. We were stringing jelly beans on a string... it was messy. This is my wonderful friend and we 2 oldest girls. (They are 12 and 8) It's a nice bunny look for Easter.

March 26, 2008 Picture

Here is S and my friend's... they were playing Wii... S had a great time... he played games he hadn't ever seen before. He did really well... he didn't win. It was a new thing for him, but he was a good sport. Later they all went outside and played on the trampoline. They wrestled and had a hootin' old time. Especially S.

March 25, 2008 Picture

This is my E and my friend's little girl... They are friends too. My friends were wonderful and invited us to have Easter Dinner with them. Then we played awhile. We had a fun day.

March 24, 2008 Picture

This is the first bug J found in Texas. It was in the kitchen sink. She was grossed out... I laughed. It's actually kind of a small cockroach.

March 23, 2008 Picture

O.K. They are finally here... We drove to Austin on Saturday and picked up J, s, e, and Grandma. We borrowed a friends car and drove on over. It is about 1 1/2 hours away. After we got to San Antonio we went to one of my favorite resturants... this is e... she has doing a great "Cousin It" imitation. We are having a great time.

March 22, 2008 Picture

I was at the temple again... here's a hiny view of Moroni, at the San Antonio Temple.

March 21, 2008 Picture

The weather has been so nice that the bees and any other bugs, are coming out of hiding... this is a HUGE wasp stuck behind a window, but inside the screen. That's a little yellow car behind it.

March 20, 2008 Picture

Sorry, I've been so busy... J and my Grandma, and then s and e are here visiting. I haven't updated my blog lately. This is when my friend and I went to a Karoke Bar. It was very LOUD. My friend's both sang... but not me. I wasn't about to embrass myself like that.

March 19, 2008 Picture

I am offically now a walker. I'm done with the crutches. Here's a picture of my 2 little feet. They are a walkin' now. FINALLY. 2 1/2 months of crutches. But I'm still kickin'!

March 18, 2008 Picture

Here's Jill's car too... everyone's cars were covered with the chalky, red stuff.

March 17, 2008 Picture

It rained MUD... it was so weird. Another thing that would only happen in Texas. There was a fire in Central Mexico, big dust storm in West Texas and then lots of pollen in the air, Cedar, Mulberry, whatever.... Then a big thunder storm came. It was gross. Anyone that was outside was covered in mud. I haven't ever seen anything like it before... no one had.

Yesterday, mom and I went up by the temple... so we stopped and I took a picture. It sits up on a (very small) hill. I'm about 30 feet below the base of the temple. It was about 95 degrees at the time... sticky, icky hot. Beautiful though.

March 15, 2008 Picture

This is the KCI Tower (mom doesn't work there... she's some where else)... it is right by a BIG interchange on I-10 and Loop 410 (it circles the inner part of the city)... I was driving and taking a picture while I was going by. Not to safe, I know but... it is a little more of San Antonio.

March 14, 2008 Picture

This is the same tree as the one with the really cool flowers (the purple ones)... this is some seed pods, it looks like poop... I thought they looked gross... so I took a picture.

March 13, 2008 Picture

March 12, 2008 Picture

This is my little E.... she is coming to visit in 10 days. I called my sister and when she answered she laughed... she said that E said, " I bet that's Tena and I have been wanting to talk to her all day at school." Then she went outside and didn't talk to me on the phone... I love her. I miss her. She drew a picture on a paper plate today. It was two stick figures... one had a J on it. The other had an A on it. My sister asked her what it was. She she it was her, J (J is her mom) and me... but she didn't know what Tena started with so she put and A for Aunt instead. Ha, ha... then there were a lot of little boxes around the two stick figures. They are our luggage. Ha... Then J asked were she was (E) and S (her brother) and Grandma were... they are going on the trip too. Then she said "ooohhh I forgot!!!" You got to love her. She is blonde.

Today was my nephew's birthday. He is 20 years old.. wow... he's old.
This picture is of a mural on the side of a hospital in down town San Antonio...
Christus Santa Rosa Hosiptal. It's huge... at least 100 feet tall. There is an Angel holding a little boy. You can see it from the freeway. It's amazing to see it along with all the big, dirty buildings around it. I don't know.. I guess it make me remember that all people have goodness in them... they just have to chose to want to be good and live it. There are so many other bad things out there... children afraid and uncertain if they are loved. I love that I get to help some of them through my CASA work. At least one little guy.

March 10, 2008 Picture

This is a quaint little park in down town San Antonio... It's called Chris Park. It's dedicated to a son that died from a drug overdose. It has neat little fountains that blow up out of the ground. I wouldn't have seen it, but a friend of mine knew the son... so she took me over to see it. It's hidden away from most the big tourist-y places. Lots of neat plants and sculptures.

March 9, 2008 Picture

This is a fast picture taken from the passenger side of a car... It's down town San Antonio... from I-10... It's five lanes across right there... It's fast too. I had to go to court today for my CASA kid. It was cool. The judge asked me questions and he actually listened to me... It mattered what I said, it makes me think that all the time I'm spending is actually worth it. The judge scared the mother... she'll have to decided what she really wants... her child or her old life.

March 8, 2008 Picture

This is a picture of Holly berries... they were just cute. It was so nice today... about 70 degrees.
O.K. everyone still thinking GREAT thoughts about the house. :0)

March 7, 2008 Picture

This is a Sago Palm Tree... it is a short tree.. that looks like a fern... But at the same time it looks like a palm tree. It is in front of the house we looked at today... It was beautiful... I loved the kitchen... it had a ISLAND in the kitchen... the living room. dining room and kitchen were all connected together and very spacious. It was cool... now we know what and where we want to buy... now we have to wait until May to make an offer.... I'm giving it GREAT engery that it will still be on the market in May... then the people will like any offer we give them. EVERYONE think good, cheaper thoughts.

March 6, 2008 Picture

It's SO COLD today. Yesterday was so nice... that's over. The wind is bitter and freezing. It's only 41 degrees. But that is VERY cold for Texas... the wind is big, the rain is big and COLD. Here's a picture of flowers. It's really cold but the flowers look great. They are cold too.
Yesterday I found out that I have to do crutches for another few weeks. Now I get to slowly put weight on my leg... a little more each day. Until... if it doesn't hurt I can just walk... The break is still visable on the X-ray... but if I slowly put weight on it, it make the bone stronger... but it has to be slow. I'm learning patience... the hard way... by the time I get done with all of the broken leg stuff, it will have been 3 months on crutches. NOT FUN! A friend of mine can't remember me without crutches. I haven't known her long. I did this about 5 days after we got back to Texas from Christmas. Not a great start to the New Year. But I feel better than I did...

March 5, 2008 Picture

Here is a funny tree... I have no idea what it is called, but it doesn't have any bark on the trunk. It's just a skinny stick poking out of the ground. No leaves on them yet. It was about 77 degree today. Beautiful.

March 4, 2008 Picture

It has been wonderfully warm and sunny in Texas... the flowers are beautiful. This is a tree that flowers... It's a Laurel of some sort. It smells heavenly. This was taken at a friend's house. They are a light purple. Cool!

March 3, 2008 Picture

I saw this at a craft shop some where... I thought it was a cool thing. Abraham Lincoln said it... He really respected his mother... That is a wonderful trait to have and teach children. I hope my niece's and nephew's think something like this of me someday.

March 2, 2008 Picture

Here are 2 pictures... s has a funny ear... My Grandma did too... It must be some weird family trait that comes from my dad's side of the family. One ear is normal and the other is floppy on the top... kind-of elf-ish... He's a boy so he doesn't care much. I just thought it was interesting.

March 1, 2008 Picture

Hi y'all... I don't really talk that way. Here is a picture from last summer. It rained and rained and then rained some more. Evidently it was supposed to be dry at that time of the year and wet right now. It's not... it is really dry and everything is brown. This is our patio, the water was so high it came up on it. Lots of rain. Right now, it's very, very dry (High fire danger)... it's ugly.
